Munnabhai diaolgue

Protestors clash with police along the Western Express Highway in Bandra on Thursday, November 30

Several parts of Mumbai have reported incidents of stone pelting this afternoon (November 30) in an apparent expression of Dalit anger over the alleged desecration of a statue of Dr Ambedkar in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Since morning, reports of violence in Dalit pockets started trickling in, from Thane district to Worli in central Mumbai and the Bandra stretch of the Western Express Highway.
Besides this, police resorted to lathicharge on protestors in places such as Kanjurmarg, Mulund, Kherwadi, Bhandup, Ghatkopar Chembur and Goregaon.
Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said that though there had been “stray incidents of violence” reported from various parts of the city, the situation was rapidly coming under control. Patil added that police were receiving cooperation from dalit leaders as well, in this regard.
Maharashtra on the boil

One of the compartments of the Deccan Queen Express set afire by the angry dalits

Angry mob of around 6000 protestors reportedly set afire nine compartments of the Deccan Queen Express near Ulhasnagar however there were no immediate reports of any casualties. However, train services between Kalyan and Karjat have been halted.
Angry protestors also torched two local trains in Ulhasnagar and police had to resort to firing to control mobs. One person has been injured in the incident.
The local administration is considering imposing curfew in Ulhasnagar. Condemning the attacks on trains, Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has said the culprits will not be spared.
Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed in Nanded district till Friday morning. Apart from Nanded, curfew has also been imposed in Pimpri.
Police are on the alert in Nashik, to prevent the situation from going out of hand. There were reports of protestors trying to damage a bus in Nasik and in Bhiwandi three buses were confirmed to have been damaged.
Dalits poured out on to the streets last night, in protest against the alleged desecration of a statue of Dr B R Ambedkar in Kanpur. In Nasik, a 23-yr old Dalit youth Rangnath Shankar Dhale was beaten to death by an angry mob last evening after they found him pelting stones at vehicles.
Compensation for Dhale
Meanwhile, Maharashtra government has announced a financial aid of Rs one lakh and government job to the next of
kin of Dhale.
Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who visited trouble-torn localities of Nashik and Vihitgaon this morning, paid a visit to Dhale's house at Muktidham and announced the financial assistance and job.
Bhujbal also assured free treatment to Dhale's ailing father. Three persons have been arrested in connection with his death.
Police control?
Director General of Police P S Pasricha said among the 60 injured, 40 were policemen. A protestor died after he was run over by a truck in Nanded on Wednesday evening while trying to stop the traffic while one person was beaten to death by a mob in Nashik last night, Pasricha said.
Over 1,500 protestors have been arrested across the state for various incidents of stone-pelting and arson. Of them, 400 were caught indulging in violent acts.
Angry mobs torched 15 vehicles across the state and at least 100 buses have been damaged in the protests reported
from Latur, Bhiwandi, Mumbai, Pimpri, Chinchawad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Buldhana, Nashik and Nanded among other areas, he said.
"Maintaining law and order situation is our top priority and the state intelligence department is probing into the
cause of protests," Pasricha said assuring that the situation will be brought under control by evening.
Keeping in view the law and order situation across Maharashtra, Mumbai police commissioner A N Roy has requested the government to declare holiday on Baba Ambedkar’s death anniversary on December 6.

Dosti SMS

Dosti SMS

Dost hain to aansuon ki bhi shaan hoti hai,
Dost na ho to mehfil bhi shamshaan hoti hai....
Sara khel to dosti ka hai,
Warna arthi aur baarat ek saman hoti hai....

Dillagi dosto ke naam hoti hai
Dilldari dosto ki shaan hoti hai
Kahi bhi raho par rahoge dil me mere
Yahi sachchi dosti ki pehchaan hoti hai

Har kali tujse khusbhu udhar mange,
Har aftab tujse roshni udhar mange,
Tum dosti aesi karo ki
Har koi tumari dosti udhar mange....

Bewafaa se pyar nahi hota,
Marne ke baad intezaar nahi hota,
Dosti dekh kar karna mere dost ,
Har dost hamari tarah wafadaar nahi hota.......

Woh nadiyaan nahi thi aansu the mere,
Jis par mere Dost kashti chalate rahe...
Manzil mile unhe yeh chahat thi meri,
Isliye hum aansu pe aansu bahate rahe...

Kash khushiyon ki koi dukan hoti,
Humari hi waha pehchan hoti,
Bhar dete aapk daman khushiyon se,
Kimat uski chahe meri jaan hoti.

Mushkilo se ghabra ke ab jina nahi chahte,
Dur tum se hoke ab rehna nahi chahte,
Yun to dost bahut bane iss zindagi me,
Par aap jaise dost ko khona nahi chahte.

Teri palko par khwaab rakh gaya koi
Teri sanso pe naam likh gaya koi
Chalo waada raha tumse
Bhool jana hume agar humse
Ahcha dost tumhe mil gaya koi...

Vaise to kayi dost hai hamare
Jaise aasman me hai kai taare
Par aap dosti ke aasman ke wo chand hain
Jiske samne fike padte hai saare sitare..

Maine bhi duniya dekhi hai dost,
Har insaan ko aap jaisa yaar nahi milta.

Yahi to khoobsurat dosti ka naata hai,
Jo bina kisi shart ke jiya jaata hai...
Rahe duriyan darmiyan to parwaah nahi,
Dost to harpal dil me basaya jaata hai...

Koi pyar kehta hai koi mohabbat kehta hai,
Kuch log bandagi kehte hain...
Magar jinke saath hum dosti karte hain,
Unhe hum apni zindagi kehte hain...

Wada karte hain dosti nibhayenge......
Koshish yahi rahegi tujhe na satyaenge.....
Zarurat pade to dil se pukarana........
Mar bhi rahe honge to Khudase mohlat lekar aayenge

Fiza me baharon ke sawarne se pehle ...
Aasman me sitaron ke bikharne se pehle....
Humne Khuda se maangi thi dosti aapki.......
Is zamin par utarne se pehle....

Shaam ki tanhai mein kho na jana,
Kisi ki masti mein doob na jana,
Milegi zarur kal manzil tumhe,

KHUS NASEEB HO AP ,
JO HUM IS DOSTI KO ITNI SIDDAT SE CHAHTE HAIN,
VARNA HUM TO VO HASTI HAIN
JO KHAWOON MAIN B APPOINTMENT SE AATE HAIN

Woh ek dost jpo rishtey mein kareeb sa lagta hai,
Bahut pass hai dil ke phir bhi juda sa lagta hai,
Shayad kisi baat pe khafa sa lagta hai

Aisa saathi chahiye..jo..hume apna maan sake....
Humaare har dukh ko jaan sake...
Chal rahe ho hum tez baarish mei...
Fir b paani mei se aansuuuo ko pehchaan sake..

Dosti ki daastaan jab waqt sunayega....
Tumhe bhi ek shaks yaad aayega.....
Bhool jaaoge zindagi ke saare gham,,,
Jab mere saath bitaya hua ek-ek pal yaad aayega.

Dosti gunah hai to hone na dena,
Dosti khuda hai to khone na dena,
Karte ho dosti jab kisi se,
To us dost ko kabhi rone na dena.

Khuda ne poocha mujse..
Shakil tu dosto me itna kyon khoya hai???
To dil se ye aawaz aayee.....k aye khuda.....
Doston ne hi to dee hai khushiyaaan.....
Warna pyar karke to dil sirf roya hai.....

Dua hai jaan ki ek hi ghar me rista hamara ho,
Agar dil tera dadke tho dhadkan hamara ho,
Agar asu tera nikle to akha hamari ho,
Agar sans teri ruhke to maut hamara ho...

Nafratse Mohabbat Me Judai Hoti Hai...
Pyar To Humesha Bewafaee Hoti Hai......
Humare Taraf Haath Badhakar To Dekho....
Dosti Me Kitnee Sacchai Hoti Hai.......:

Zindagi humari itni roshan na hoti
Agar aap ye gulshan abaad na karte,,,,,
Mana hum baat nahi karte hai..
Iska matlab ye nhi ki hum aapko yaad nahi karte hai

Dost to ruksat ho jaate hai....
Par kuch yaaddoon k daaayre ban jaate hai...
Bhuul jana to insaan ki fitrat hai...
Par kch dost yadoo me bass jaate hai..

Faithful flock for annual feast
Lakhs of Syrian Christians from around the world are expected for the annual feast of the St. Gregorious Church today

Devotees from the city belonging to the Malankara Syrian Orthodox faith flocked Dadar Station’s Platform No. 8 on Monday evening to bid a safe journey to their friends and relatives, who were undertaking their pilgrimage to Mavelikara in Kerala to celebrate the annual feast of St. Gregorious Church there. Around 2200 Orthodox Christian devotees, including 50 priests, children, couples and even elderly people, boarded this specially chartered train.

The church has the 105-year-old remains of Mar Gregorios Metropolitan, the first declared saint of the Malankara Orthodox Church of Kerala. Lakhs of Syrian Christians from around the world are expected for the feast today.

While the 15-bogie train called ‘The Malankara Pilgrim Special’ was scheduled to chug out only at 21.05 hours, people had started coming to the platform three to four hours prior to its departure. The train has been specially charted by the Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Christian and reached Kerala yesterday morning and will return back next Monday.

Speakers have been installed in each compartment for devotees to participate in the prayers that will be conducted during the journey.

Said Bishop Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, the Metropolitan Head of the Mumbai Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church and leader of the pilgrimage, who conducted prayers before the train’s departure time, “This is not any ordinary journey to Kerala but it’s a spiritual one. That’s why we have installed speakers inside all the bogies so that the pilgrims can take part in the prayers that will be conducted during the journey.”

The specially decorated train will halt at 10 stations viz - Thane, Panvel, Roha, Madgaon, Calicut, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Chengannur and finally at Mavelikara. Even the seating arrangement was taken care of by volunteers, who gave the pilgrims seating according to their parish they belong to. Each parish had a separate bogie to accommodate their parish members.

“I am a devotee of Mar Gregorius and have been visiting the church every year. But, since the death of my husband three years ago, I could not really make the time to visit the church. This is a good opportunity and with all the great arrangement, you can attend the feast and return within a week’s time,” said 29-year-old Ranjana Kuriakose, a resident of Vikhroli, who was all set to go with her three children for the pilgrimage.

The pilgrims were not only from Mumbai, but also from other states like Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa. Mathew Punnenkullil, a resident of Gandhinagar in Gujarat has come with his family of four. Trying to locate his bogie, he says, “We have come to Mumbai for this train. We were informed about this special train last month and I was really please with this news. We haven’t yet attended the feast at the Mar Gregorious Church, even though we have heard about it. I am really thankful to the Mumbai Diocese for conducting such a journey.” P.J Chandy, convener of the pilgrimage said, “After reaching Mavelikara, pilgrims will march 20 kms to St. Gregorious Church, where prayers will be said over the tomb of the saint. This train will start its journey back this Saturday and on its way, it will make a one-day stop to Goa, wherein the pilgrims will be taken to St. Mary’s Church in Panjim for a holy mass. Pilgrims will also be taken to tour other religious spots in Goa.”

Interestingly, the pantry car is also run by the Syrian Christians itself. Binod Thomas, of Dadar parish who leads the pantry car said, “We will serve pure keralite cuisines like avial, sambhar, toran etc. Since it’s a pilgrimage, no non-vegetarian food would be served. I know this will be journey which all will remember.”

P.V Patil, a motorman of the train will drive till Ratnagiri. All excited about the journey he said, “This is the first time in my life that I will be driving pilgrims to Kerala. The halts are also very different as compared to the normal stops on the Konkan route. It’s like a blessing for me too,” says Patil.

Interestingly, unable to control the crowd at the station, ticket collectors at the station too found themselves confused. Among the ticket collectors at the platform, S.M Sudhankar said, “I was told about this special train. But we never expected a large crowd at this station. In fact, as the Bishop entered the platform, people started swarming the platform in large numbers.” Meanwhile in the city, the Syrian Orthodox Christians led by K.V James, a member of the Dadar parish marched from Calvary Cross at Kanjur Road in Kanjurmarg to the Mar Gregorious Church in Chembur, which is also known as ‘Kochu (mini) St. Gregorious Church’, with lighted candles, singing hymns and prayers. The devotees later joined the Holy tri-mass at the church for the feast of the saint.
